For the reader with the Schott Pea Coat question, I just got a 740N last month and can weigh in on this. I ordered a size 40, which is my actual chest measurement and was my suit size the last time I was fitted, and I actually had to exchange it for the 38. My normal size was QUITE roomy. I'm a half foot shorter and 40 lbs. less than the reader, but I'm still broad shouldered for my size, and there is still comfortable layering room under the smaller size. — Asked by 247restless

Thanks!

Maybe size down then, anon.

Also, other responses:

I own the 24oz coat (the 1 with fake sizes), and I like this pea coat a lot. The sizes aren’t as defined, so you may get an XL that fits the chest, but hangs off your shoulders a bit, or vice versa. Pull the trigger, and you’ll be happy you did so.
I wear their slim peacoat w/ leather trim in sz.42 as they advise you go up 2 sizes. Warm enough to get through the mild-ish Portland winters, but doesn’t allow for much layering. I like how the cut is sharper than the traditional surplus peacoat.
